The project story
The requirement
As part of the 2025 redevelopment of the pavilion at Upminster Cricket & Hockey Clubs, the building required a combination of new windows and doors to suit the different areas of the refurbished facilities.
The ground floor required practical, low-maintenance glazing for the main clubhouse and changing areas, while privacy was an important consideration for the changing rooms. Upstairs, the pavilion required a different opening solution to suit the layout and use of the space.
The project therefore called for a combination of window and door systems rather than a single specification throughout the building.
The solution
Locksafe Windows supplied and installed 10 white REHAU casement windows across the ground floor of the pavilion, helping create a bright and practical finish throughout the refurbished clubhouse.
REHAU French doors were also installed to provide glazed access between the pavilion and the surrounding grounds.
For the changing rooms, reflective privacy glass was incorporated into the new windows to provide additional screening where required while maintaining a consistent appearance across the building.
On the upper floor, Locksafe installed two aluminium bifold windows, providing a wider opening configuration suited to this part of the pavilion.
Together, the different systems provided a practical glazing solution for the individual requirements of the newly redeveloped facility.
REHAU Windows and Doors for the Ground Floor
The ground floor of the pavilion was fitted with 10 REHAU casement windows, creating a consistent appearance across the refurbished building.
Finished in white, the new frames complement the pavilion’s modern exterior while helping bring plenty of natural light into the refurbished clubhouse.
REHAU French doors were also installed as part of the project, providing glazed access between the pavilion and the surrounding grounds.
Privacy Glazing for the Changing Rooms
The changing rooms required additional privacy compared with the pavilion’s main communal areas.
Reflective privacy glass was therefore used within the changing room windows, providing additional screening while maintaining a clean and consistent appearance across the building.
This allowed the glazing specification to meet the practical requirements of the changing facilities without compromising the overall finish of the redevelopment.
Aluminium Bifold Windows
Two aluminium bifold windows were installed on the upper floor of the pavilion.
The bifold design provides a wider opening configuration than the casement windows used elsewhere on the building, giving the upper floor a glazing solution suited specifically to this part of the pavilion.
By combining aluminium and REHAU systems within the same project, Locksafe Windows was able to provide different solutions for the individual requirements of the building while maintaining a clean, modern finish throughout.
